Wrexham Football Club owners and Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney watched as the team narrowly lost against Grimsby in a nail-biting National League play-off.
Both actors were pictured cheering from Wrexham’s The Racehorse Ground as the Dragon scored four goals this afternoon.
The game proved to be neck-on-neck and went into penalties, with Grimsby emerging as the winner after scoring a fifth goal.

It was a promising start for Wrexham after striker Paul Mullin scored the first goal of the match in a penalty shot, but the other team quickly caught up with a goal by John McAtee before half time.
The second half of the match proved to be more action-packed than the first.
Grimsby took the lead when Luke Waterfall scored their second goal, but were quickly overtaken by two goals from Wrexham in quick succession – from Ben Tozer and Paul Mullin respectively.
Not to be outdone, Grimsby launched a late comeback – with two goals from Emmanuel Dieseruvwe taking them to a lead of 4-3.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the town’s football club, Wrexham AFC, in February last year and invested £2million – with their eyes on promotion this season
But Wrexham’s Jordan Davies levelled the field by scoring the team fourth goal.
The match eventually went into penalties, where Grimsby scored for a fifth time.
It is over a year since the A-List duo bought Wrexham FC – having never visited the town before – investing £2million into the venture.
The actors officially took control of the National League side in February 2021 and plan to make a documentary about it.
Last week, Reynolds and McElhinney watched the team narrowly lose to Bexley at the FA Vase Cup in Wembley, with pals David Beckham and actor Will Ferrell in tow.
