A man in his 30s has died after shots were fired outside a bar in Hackney in the early hours of this morning.
Police scrambled to the scene in Gillett Square, Dalston, just before 1am where they found a seriously injured man.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
It comes just hours after a teenage boy was stabbed to death and another injured following reports of a fight in nearby Romford last night.
The borough’s police chief has now called on locals to give up the gunmen as detectives step up their investigation.

In a series of tweets, BCU Commander Marcus Barnett said: ‘Utterly devastated to hear of the murder overnight in Hackney and another young boy murdered in East London – so so so sad!
‘When will this stop? More lives needlessly lost, more families devastated, more hurt and pain in communities.
‘This surely is the time for more cohesion, a coming together as one, a commitment to stand against such horrendous behaviour and a stand to say enough!
‘Policing is one small part of resolving this and this needs everyone to take responsibility. If you know of crime happening, people carrying weapons to hurt and kill and people that are vulnerable and in danger – call it out. This must stop.’
Enquiries are under way to confirm the victim’s identity and inform his next of kin.
A post-mortem examination will also shortly be arranged to establish the exact cause of death.
A crime scene remains in place and no arrests have been made so far.
Anyone with information on the shooting, or any witnesses, are urged to call 101, reference CAD 412/08may.
