Clarence House have released a portrait of the Duchess of Cornwall to mark her 73rd birthday this Friday.

In the picture, Camilla is seen beaming as she poses among the lush greenery in the gardens of the Clarence House garden she shares with Prince Charles, 71.

The photograph was taken at their London‘ residence earlier this week by photographer Chris Jackson.

For the occasion, Camilla recycled a blue shift dress she’s favoured on several recent official outings, including during a visit to the Youth Action Wiltshire Oxenwood Outdoor Activity Centre near Marlborough on Wednesday, by her beloved designer Anna Valentine.

Her blonde bob was styled in an impeccable blow-dry, and she sported a dash of blush for a healthy glow.

Camilla, who has been married to the Prince of Wales for 15 years, will be spending the day with her her family at Raymill, her private Wiltshire home.

She has spoken of how much she has been enjoying seeing her grandchildren – although not touching them yet – after returning from Scotland where she spent lockdown.

The Duchess is now back doing a limited number of socially-distanced public engagements.

She spent the day before her birthday in London, where she paid tribute to the Chelsea Pensioners who lost their lives during the coronavirus pandemic on a visit to their London home.

The future king’s wife looked elegant in a white Fiona Clare coat and matching gloves as she arrived at the Royal Hospital Chelsea to deliver a speech and inspect the 30 pensioners on parade.

She told them: ‘I know that you have been through a particularly tough time of late, having lost ten Pensioners to Covid-19. I should like to express my heartfelt sympathy to the families of those who have died, and to each of you as you go through the painful process of adjusting to the gap left by those much-loved friends.’

Camilla went on to say those on parade know ‘about the challenges and sacrifices of military duty’, adding how the country had also turned to a younger generation of servicemen and women as the pandemic broke out to help build hospitals, establish testing sites, repatriate citizens and deliver PPE at home and abroad.

‘In times of war and times of peace, whether seen or unseen, the armed forces support and strengthen our nation, just as each one of you Chelsea Pensioners did throughout your careers,’ she said.

‘I should like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done for us.

‘Ladies and gentlemen, you are a source of inspiration, reassurance and pride to this country, and as a fellow pensioner I salute you all. ‘

The event was held after the annual Founder’s Day, which is normally held in June, was cancelled due to the health crisis.

Camilla weathered the coronavirus pandemic in Scotland, but has accompanied the Prince of Wales on several official engagements since the lockdown was relaxed in June.

Far from remaining idle, the Duchess stayed connected with the many charities she is the patron of via video conferences during her time in isolation.
