French prophet Nostradamus, hailed for predicting the Great Fire of London and Hitler’s rise to power, foresaw a war happening in Europe.
Although it is hard to pin down the exact dates of his predictions – laid out in his famous 1555 book Les Propheties – it is believed he envisioned there would be a major conflict this spring.
Among his 942 forecasts was the vague suggestion that France may face a threat from the east.
It says: ‘Blue-head shall white-head harm in such degree, As France’s good to both shall e’er amount.’
However, Nostradamus expert Bobby Shailer has suggested that a Third World War could take place ‘in the next few years’.
French prophet Nostradamus, hailed for predicting the Great Fire of London and Hitler’s rise to power, foresaw a war happening in Europe
Last year he said: ‘Nostradamus says it will be a massive long war, 25 to 29 years, followed by smaller wars.’
But he said that afterwards there will be an ‘age of Saturn, which will be a thousand years of peace’.
His other predictions for 2022 included that the world will suffer from an asteroid strike, floods and droughts will devastate entire countries as well as mass starvation.
Nostradamus is believed by some to have predicted the devastation caused by global warming and asteroids and even the rise of AI technology.
Described as the ‘Prophet of Doom’, the French astrologer and doctor was inspired by biblical texts and his own experiences of plague, with his predictions focused on famine and sorrow.
More than 400 years after Nostradamus published his book, his work remains popular because his predictions are entirely open to interpreation.
