The new MacBook Pro features a Liquid Retina XDR display, a wide range of ports for advanced connectivity, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera and ‘the best audio system in a notebook,’ according to Apple.
Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said in a statement: ‘We set out to create the world’s best pro notebook, and today we’re excited to introduce the all-new MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max — a game-changing combination of phenomenal performance, unrivaled battery life, and groundbreaking features.
‘The all-new MacBook Pro adds a breathtaking XDR display, more ports like MagSafe 3, an advanced 1080p camera, and a sensational six-speaker sound system, all in a stunning new design.’

The new models also eliminated the ‘Touch Bar’ that Apple’s fans had groused about and restored several connectors.
Both models feature three Thunderbolt 4 ports to connect high-speed peripherals, an SDXC card slot for fast access to media, an HDMI port for conveniently connecting to displays and TVs and a headphone jack.
Apple has also brought back the MagSafe with a third generation that features and updated design to support more power – it provides up to 50 percent of battery life in just 30 minutes.

Users will notice a better sound system with the new laptop. Apple included a high-fidelity six-speaker sound system that features two tweeters for a clearer soundstage and four force-cancelling woofers, resulting in 80 percent more bass
More than 10,000 Universal apps and plug-ins, including Adobe Photoshop (above), are available to take advantage of the powerful M1 Pro and M1 Max
The camera has also been improved, as it now has 1080p resolution and works twice as well in the dark, according to the tech giant.
‘The camera system taps into the powerful image signal processor (ISP) and Neural Engine of M1 Pro and M1 Max for computational video that enhances video quality — so users appear sharper with more natural-looking skin tones,’ Apple shared in a press release.

Just like the new AirPod 3 headphones that were also unveiled, the MacBook’s redesigned sound system also supports spatial audio.
Both the 14- and 16-inch models feature Apples new M1 chips, which ‘introduce a system-on-a-chip (SoC) architecture to pro systems for the first time.’
‘M1 Pro offers amazing performance with industry-leading power efficiency, while M1 Max takes these capabilities to new heights,’ Apple shared in a press release.
The GPU in M1 Pro is up to two times faster than M1, while M1 Max is up to an four times faster than M1.
M1 Pro offers up to 200GB/s of memory bandwidth with support for up to 32GB of unified memory.
While M1 Max delivers up to 400GB/s of memory bandwidth, which is two times that of M1 Pro and nearly 6x that of M1.

And the Max also supports up to 64GB of unified memory.
Johny Srouji, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Technologies, said in a statement: ‘M1 has transformed our most popular systems with incredible performance, custom technologies, and industry-leading power efficiency. No one has ever applied a system-on-a-chip design to a pro system until today with M1 Pro and M1 Max.
‘With massive gains in CPU and GPU performance, up to six times the memory bandwidth, a new media engine with ProRes accelerators, and other advanced technologies, M1 Pro and M1 Max take Apple silicon even further, and are unlike anything else in a pro notebook.’
