- Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline became a popular tune and unofficial England anthem during the tournament

England stars Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, Kyle Walker and Declan Rice have been shown together singing along passionately to Neil Diamond’s hit ‘Sweet Caroline’ while on holiday in Mykonos after Euro 2020.
The Three Lions were doubted before the European Championships but reached the competition final, eventually losing 3-2 on penalties against Italy.
Mount, Shaw, Walker and Rice all started the tournament finale at Wembley, with Shaw scoring after just two minutes, but Leonardo Bonucci equalised in the second half before the side lost out via the dreaded spot-kicks.
But the England side have since had the chance to go on holiday before the start of the new Premier League season on August 13, and the four Premier League stars linked up together to enjoy some rest and recuperation.
The latest social media video to emerge from the group trip shows Chelsea midfielder Mount, his close friend and West Ham midfielder Rice, Manchester United left back Shaw, and Manchester City right back Walker all enjoying each other’s company on the Greek island.

Mount, Rice and Shaw are seen sat down at a long table enjoying a meal, while a remix of Diamond’s famous song ‘Sweet Caroline’ is played out over the sound system, with Shaw and Mount banging the table in time to the beat.
As the pre-chorus starts, a topless Walker, holding his shirt in one hand, comes over to the table with his arms outstretched, encouraging his team-mates to sing along.
Mount then joins in, as Shaw laughs and Walker waves his shirt around his head. Mount and Walker sing the chorus joyously while Rice films the singing on his phone.

Former Love Island contestant Josh Denzel, who was the main presenter of the daily Three Lions show that was run by the official England media team throughout the tournament, gained a friendly rapport with several players while interviewing them during the tournament and he was also at the table filming.
‘Sweet Caroline’ became the unofficial anthem of Euro 2020 – and the soundtrack to England’s summer – when Gareth Southgate’s players went over to the fans and belted out the song inside Wembley Stadium after beating Denmark in the semi-final.
Sportsmail reported on Friday that several other Three Lions players had jetted off to Mykonos on a lads’ holiday to cure their Euro heartache, with Jack Grealish, Kalvin Phillips, Ben Chilwell and Ben White also travelling there.

Aston Villa attacking midfielder Grealish and Chelsea left back Chilwell, who are both part of the ‘Avengers’ friendship group that includes fellow footballers James Maddison, Ross Barkley and John McGinn, were photographed together on the island.
Grealish, a popular member of the England squad, also posed for photographs in other Instagram stories. The 25-year-old appears to have been partying ever since he was relieved from Three Lions duty, as he photographed himself taking shots the day after the final.
Mount, who played a significant role in England’s route to the final, was seen partying in the background of Denzel‘s Instagram story at the Principote Beach Club on Thursday night – a venue visited by several celebrities, including England international Dele Alli. Grealish was also pictured with Denzel’s group, meaning he could have socialised together with the pair.
Meanwhile, Ben White and Phillips – who were both part of the England set-up and are former team-mates at Leeds United – are also on the Greek island and enjoyed a meal at Mykonos’ Salt Bae restaurant.
The eatery is located at the west of the island, around five kilometers from where Denzel and other England stars are believed to have been partying.
The restaurant is popular among celebrities and influencers, particularly footballers.
France forward Kylian Mbappe attended the Mykonos restaurant last week, while Roberto Mancini – who led Italy to success at Euro 2020 – has visited the iconic venue in the past.
White also posted images of him relaxing by his villa pool. The Brighton defender, who is being chased by Arsenal this summer for a £50million move, was a last-minute addition to Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad but did not feature for the Three Lions at the summer tournament.
The holiday destination might however conjure up worse memories for fellow England player Harry Maguire, as it is where he was arrested for a bar fight back in August 2020.
Manchester United centre back Maguire was found guilty of assaulting police, verbal abuse, and attempted bribery but he has appealed all three charges.

Maguire was given a suspended sentence of 21 months and 10 days in prison but lodged an official appeal at his convictions
The hearing is likely to be postponed this year as the country’s judicial system has stalled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The England defender told the BBC soon after that plain-clothed police officers, who did not identify themselves, pulled over his group’s minibus in Mykonos, threw him off the bus, hit him on his legs and told him his career was over.
Meanwhile, England forwards Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, soon-to-be team-mates at Manchester United, went to the Caribbean destination of Turks and Caicos after both spoke out against the vile racist abuse they received after the Euro final following their missed penalties.
They have flown to Providenciales, a picturesque island in the Atlantic Ocean, which is on the UK Government’s green list and will provide the Three Lions stars with the perfect backdrop while they soak up the sun.
The players are said to have travelled with a rapper called Chibz Artist. Rashford is thought to have recently split up with his girlfriend Lucia Loi after eight years together, while Sancho is not known to currently have a partner.
Rashford and Sancho were filmed by musician Chibz Artist on Snapchat boarding a private jet, and looked in high spirits while rapping away inside the jaw-droppingly sleek cabin.
