Peaky Blinders fans were left furious after Tommy Shelby had steamy sex with Diana Mitford in last night’s episode.
The barnstorming episode featured a bomb, torture and dramatic plot twists, but it was Tommy (Cillian Murphy’s) romp with Nazi sympathiser Diana (Amber Anderson) that had viewers up in arms.
Diana, who at the time the show is set is the mistress of fascist politician Sir Oswald Mosley, has been making eyes at Tommy all series and last night made her intentions plain, telling him: ‘Oswald has f****d your wife so my suggestion is about balance and proportion. It would be only fair.’

Viewers already hated the character for her Nazi leanings and were calling for her to meet her end by the closing credits of last night’s episode, saying they hope Lizzie will kill her in next week’s finale.
However they are set to be disappointed for the real Diana, who did in fact marry Mosely and was jailed during the Second World War for her fascist views, lived until 2003 – far beyond the scope of the series.
Last night’s episode saw Tommy continue to deal with the ramifications of his terminal tumour diagnosis while trying to secure his legacy, get his brother Arthur back on the straight and narrow, bring down the fascists, and keep his health struggles secret from his family.
Lizzie and Tommy’s marriage is under enormous strain following the death of their daughter, Ruby, but the gangster assured her that he loves her.

Diana was married to a Guinness but Tommy hoped she could still use her influence to secure funding.
However she had other ideas.
Diana, who was apparently still not certain of Tommy’s apparent commitment to the fascist cause, told him: ‘It’s much harder to lie with your body than with your words,’ hinting that he would need to physically prove himself to her in a more intimate fashion.
She added: ‘Mostly I do whatever I want to do. Sometimes I do things for the cause, in this case it’s both.’
Furious viewers are hoping Lizzie will get her own back on Diana in this week’s finale

Shortly afterwards, Diana rubbed their extra marital dalliance in Lizzie’s face, prompting Lizzie to storm out in tearful embarrassment.
‘She doesn’t deserve you, Mr Shelby,’ Mosley concluded, urging him to find a more ‘suitable’ wife, one without Lizzie’s ‘past and personal history’.
Tommy agreed but for very different reasons.
‘You’re right, she doesn’t deserve me. She doesn’t deserve what I am,’ Tommy said.
‘She doesn’t deserve what I will become. Truth is, I belong here at this table. With f***ers like you. She doesn’t. For all I try to hide it, I’m just one of you. Could there be a sadder ending?’
