Ukrainian soldiers and civilians have been revered across the world for their bravery during the Russian invasion.
But one man took fearlessness to a whole other level – by moving an anti-tank mine with his bare hands while puffing a cigarette.
The citizen, who has not been named, was captured making the daring manoeuvre near Berdyansk in the south of the country.
It comes as Russian troops got bogged down by fierce fighting in Ukraine as Vladimir Putin‘s invasion faltered.
But in a dramatic escalation of tensions, the President ordered nuclear forces be put on high alert in response to what he called ‘aggressive statements’ by NATO.

The civilian, wearing a black puffer jacket, jeans and dark trainers, smoked on a cigarette as he spoke in Ukrainian.
He made the cameraman laugh as he continued to hoist the land mine across the street with his arms out in front of him.
The man walked down a verge and into the surrounding woodland as he took the device away from traffic.
The video came to an end as the civilian kept strolling into the forest, taking the land mine out of harms way.
The footage was shared across social media and westerners were stunned by the man’s bravery.

One wrote: ‘Southern Ukraine. You can be cool, but you’ll never be ”I found this land mine on the road and decided to bring it to the nearby forest” cool.’
Another put: ‘Brave doesn’t even describe what this guy is doing, he’s moving an unexploded land mine away from houses into a wooded area.’
One said: ‘Just a man, cigarette in mouth, removing a landmine from under a bridge in Berdyansk, Ukraine. Unreal.’
A woman posted: ‘It’s like I always say, you can’t move an active land mine without burning a heater while you do it.’
A person said: ‘If I were carrying a live land mine I think I might start smoking again too.’
And one more posted: ‘Only a Ukrainian would pick up a land mine in jeans and a jacket with a cigarette in his mouth and calmly walk it away from the bridge.’
They added on Twitter: ‘Never underestimate the mental & physical strength of the Ukes.’
It comes after numerous reports of have a go heroes in Ukraine as they faced down overwhelming Russian forces.
One man stood in front of a huge convoy and tried to stop them passing him as they sped down the road.
A woman told a Russian soldier to plant sunflower seeds in his pockets so they would grow on Ukrainian soil when he dies.
And 13 Ukrainian soldiers told a warship to ‘go f*** themselves’ when they were asked to surrender on Snake Island.
Meanwhile President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reportedly refused to be rescued from Kyiv and opted to stay on the frontline with his men.

In a dramatic escalation of East-West tensions over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine today, Putin ordered Russian nuclear forces put on high alert.
The order means he wants Russia’s nuclear weapons prepared for increased readiness to launch.
Amid the worrying development, the office of Ukraine’s president said a delegation would meet with Russian officials as Moscow’s troops drew closer to Kyiv.
Putin, in giving the nuclear alert directive, cited not only the alleged statements by NATO members but the hard-hitting financial sanctions imposed by the West.
Putin told his defense minister and the chief of the military’s General Staff to put the nuclear deterrent forces in a ‘special regime of combat duty.’
He said: ‘Western countries aren’t only taking unfriendly actions against our country in the economic sphere, but top officials from leading NATO members made aggressive statements regarding our country.’

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Putin was resorting to a pattern he used in the weeks before launching the invasion of Ukraine.
She said it was ‘to manufacture threats that don’t exist in order to justify further aggression’.
She said: ‘The global community and American people should look at it through that prism. We’ve seen him do this time and time again.’
She told ABC’s ‘This Week’ that Russia has not been under threat from NATO or Ukraine.
She said: ‘This is all a pattern from President Putin and we’re going to stand up… we have the ability to defend ourselves but we also need to call out what we’re seeing here.’
Putin threatened before Russia’s invasion to retaliate harshly against any nations that intervened in the conflict in Ukraine and raised the spectre of going nuclear.
The US ambassador to the UN responded to the news from Moscow while appearing on a Sunday news program.
Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield said: ‘President Putin is continuing to escalate this war in a manner that is totally unacceptable.
‘And we have to continue to condemn his actions in the most strong, strongest possible way.’
