Naomi has so far refused to reveal the name of her daughter, or the identity of the biological father.

The supermodel had also shared Vogue’s caption that read: ‘The incomparable @Naomi is the star of @BritishVogue’s March 2022 cover – and she’s got company.

‘After keeping her path to motherhood almost totally private, the 51-year-old is introducing her baby daughter to the world for the very first time.

‘“She wasn’t adopted, she’s my [biological] child,” the beloved British supermodel tells @SarahHarris.’

Naomi stunned fans by announcing the birth of her daughter in May, just weeks after appearing on the New York Fashion Week runway without a visible baby bump.

She said the nine-month old child is hers amid growing speculation regarding the biological parentage.

Speaking to the latest edition of British Vogue while posing with her daughter, the model confirmed: ‘She wasn’t adopted – she’s my child.’

Naomi played coy during the new interview, and despite confirming her daughter is not adopted, refused to elaborate further on her first born.

However she admitted that very few of her wide circle of friends and family members knew she was planning on becoming a parent.

She explained: ‘I can count on one hand the number of people who knew that I was having her. But she is the biggest blessing I could ever imagine. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.’

Surprise! Naomi announced she had become a mother last year with an Instagram post cradling her newborn daughter and stated she has never felt a ‘greater love’

The British supermodel wrote: ‘A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother’

Naomi announced she had become a mother last year with an Instagram post cradling her newborn daughter and stated she has never felt a ‘greater love’.

Offering a first look at her new arrival with a picture of her baby girl, whose name has not been revealed, Naomi penned: ‘A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother.

‘So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love.’

The model gave no further details in the post.

Mother-to-be: Naomi welcomed her first child in May and was seen on the Michael Kors runway just a month prior without a bump

Naomi was in a relationship with Skepta in 2018, and the rapper revealed later that year he was expecting his first child with an image of a 4D ultrasound taken earlier that day, with just a flower emoji as the caption.

HOW DID NAOMI BECOME A MOTHER AT 50 YEARS OLD?

Naomi has not revealed the method in which she welcomed her daughter but has previously spoken about her many options for starting a family

SURROGACY

Some mature mothers choose to have a baby via surrogacy, when someone has a baby for a couple who cannot have a child themselves.

Straight surrogacy uses the surrogates own eggs to conceive and can take place at home using artificial insemination, using an insemination kit or via a clinic using IUI or IVF with the surrogate acting a known egg donor.

Surrogacy is legal in the UK, but it’s illegal to advertise for surrogates. No financial benefit other than reasonable expenses can be paid to the surrogate.

Naomi previously hinted at looking into surrogacy when she said: ‘I think about having children all the time. But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want.’

 PREGNANCY

More mothers are waiting until later in life to have children, but pregnancy after 50 is still quite rare.

A woman’s fertility begins to decline in her early 30s. After age 35, her number of viable eggs starts to fall more quickly.

However celebrities have made headlines for having kids in their later years, including Janet Jackson who had her son, Eissa Al Mana, at age 50.

Naomi said she wanted to welcome a child with a partner, stating: ‘I do want a father figure. I think it’s important. It’s the way I feel today, sitting here talking to you’

She also hinted at wanting a traditional family set up when she announced: ‘I want the same things as every other woman: the house, the kids, the lot’

In another interview she said: ‘I’d love to have kids. I don’t discount anything in life. I love kids and always will.’

Skepta’s daughter River was born in October 2018 but he has revealed no details on the mother and rarely posts pictures with his daughter.

In 2020, Naomi insisted she has ‘nothing but love’ for Skepta after revealing she was ‘not on speaking terms’ with her last boyfriend.

In an Instagram post, the Vogue cover star shared snaps of herself cosying up to the rapper, as she penned: ‘STOP. All love between Us @skeptagram’.

Speaking to Times Weekend magazine, Naomi said that she is on good terms with all her previous ex-boyfriends, but admitted she isn’t friends with her ‘last’ ex.

Discussing who she has dated, she said: ‘Why don’t you say it the other way round? Surely it was their privilege just as much as mine to be with them? But yes, I had some wild and exciting times until I changed my life aged 29.

‘Whatever they say about me, I have remained friends with all my exes… except the last one.’

Asked if she means Skepta, she simply said: ‘A lady never discusses the details of her private life.’

Naomi was said to be dating an living in America with her secret boyfriend last May but the romance seemed to have fizzled out by the summer, when she admitted that her high-powered jetset lifestyle has meant at least one big sacrifice: finding a long-term romantic partner.

‘I’d say the sacrifice is really finding that soul mate who will understand you,’ she told The Cut.

‘It’s really like you feel if they look at you as if you’re strong … you know, I’m strong, but I’m also sensitive. I know that in relationships I have to compromise.’

Though she said missing out on finding a soul mate was a sacrifice she made, she is not interested in feelings of regret or dwelling on the past.

‘I have no time for bitterness,’ she said. ‘There’s a journey. I’m still on it. It’s God willing. I’m just still going, and I want to keep going and doing things that I love doing in my life. And that’s it!”

‘I don’t like… what’s the word? Stagnation. Yes, that’s it. I don’t like that. I don’t like being stagnant,’ she added. ‘It’s not who I am. It’s not the energy I was born with.

‘I’m not trying to talk about the past. I’m going to talk about the present… forward.’

Naomi’s baby announcement came after she admitted that she would ‘think about having children all the time’ but wasn’t planning to rush herself to start a family.

Speaking to ES Magazine back in 2017, she said: ‘I think about having children all the time. But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want.’

Asked if she would have the child herself rather than adopt, she replied: ‘Maybe. Maybe… Maybe.’

However, the Vogue cover girl insisted that she did not want to be a single parent so would find a suitable partner first.

She said: ‘I do want a father figure. I think it’s important. It’s the way I feel today, sitting here talking to you.’

Discussing motherhood last September, Naomi told BBC HardTalk, that her daughter was ‘independent and smart’.

Naomi told listeners: ‘I’m really lucky I think have a dream child. She’s wonderful. She’s very independent already, very smart, alert, sleeps 12 hours. She’s a good girl.’

When asked if she planned to instill the values in her to be a strong independent woman, Naomi said: ‘Absolutely. Right down to the hygiene part.’

She said: ‘I actually am not going to comment too much on that. This was what I said to my friends in the room when I was watching it, and this is what I’m going to say now.

‘It was sad for me knowing Princess Diana to see that her two boys were not on good terms. As a mother, that’s the last thing you want to happen to your boys. She’s no longer here. That’s her legacy, her two boys. You don’t want to see that happen.’

Naomi was linked to One Direction star Liam Payne, 23 years her junior, following her break-up from Skepta and his break-up from Cheryl.

They are said to have enjoyed a few dates but it was ultimately short-lived.

It began with a seemingly harmless flirtation on Instagram, liking and commenting on one another’s steamy posts.

Liam described her as ‘perfection in a person’, with her branding him ‘a beautiful soul’. They were then spotted at the concert of musician Davido at The O2 in London.

There were reports about Liam bragging about the couple’s ‘mind-blowing’ sex, but when Naomi was asked outright about the tryst on The Jonathan Ross Show she said the rumours were ‘humorous’. Any romance appeared to end shortly after this.

Hot off the press: Rapper Skepta and Naomi’s tryst appeared to be done and dusted before too long, shortly after appearing in a joint GQ shoot in their underwear

2018: Skepta

Their raunchy cover of GQ magazine, in only their underwear, sent fans wild.

But rapper Skepta and Naomi’s tryst appeared to be done and dusted before too long.

Of the shoot, Naomi said afterwards: ‘We basically did that shoot on our own, it wasn’t for any publication, and once I saw the pictures I was like “no, no, no we should come out…”

‘And so then I started making some calls. It wasn’t like I was going to wait months for it to come out – it’s either got to come out in the next few or it ain’t coming out at all.’

Come out indeed it did, with the duo taking part in a joint interview at the time, playing coy about any romance. To this day it’s still unclear, but Skepta seemingly mentioned Naomi on one of his tracks in 2020. They are thought to still be close.

1995: Leonardo DiCaprio

The couple’s dalliance was fleeting, however. They appeared to have remained pally ever since, seen chatting at events on many an occasion since.

While she has never been married, Naomi was previously engaged to U2 bass player Adam Clayton after getting together in 1993 and despite their split in 1994, the stunner has always spoken fondly of the musician.
