A Surrey restaurant faced furore this week after it published a dress code which asked female customers to dress sexy.
Beluga Bar in Leatherhead opened last night serving locals pricey Japanese fare and cocktails. But before even opening it was branded ‘outdated and misogynist’ by locals with one customer writing on social media: ‘WTF have you read how sexist and how out of touch your T&Cs are for 2022!. You’re a restaurant on Leatherhead High street not some private members club in Mayfair (which will even allow a flat shoes and skinny jeans combo!)’
On Thursday, they posted an apology to Instagram saying: ‘The description was inappropriate, disrespectful and offensive and does not reflect the image we’re seeking to promote’.

FEMAIL’s Emer Scully headed down to the bar’s opening night adhering to their dress code. She said security guards remained stock still and blocked the entrance asking her if she had a booking
Chloe said she felt a sense of being scrutinised on her appearance, with the security guards appearing to sneer at her dressed down look
The bar in Leatherhead has a strict list of requirements for customers, worthy of a posh private members’ club, including a tight top and ‘sexy’ heels for women, as well as stating that you can only gain entry if you’re on the guest list
