Romesh Ranganathan was reportedly subjected to vile racial abuse from a woman during his comedy gig at London‘s Hammersmith Apollo on Thursday night.
The comedian, 43, was forced to stop the show and apologise to other audience members as the woman stood up from the crowd and heckled him, with the star forced to ask security to intervene.
In shocking video footage, the abusive woman is then seen being ejected by guards and escorted out of the venue, as the delighted audience chanted ‘cheerio!’ at her.

A video clip shared online sees Romesh saying: ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry’ to audience members at the front shortly after the woman’s foul-mouthed rant.
The video then sees the woman dragged out of her seat and marched out of the auditorium as the audience begin to sing: ‘cheerio, cheerio, cheerio!’
The audience member filming the incident expressed their shock at the scenes, remarking: ‘She’s being carried out! She’s being dragged out!’

Addressing the crowd after the incident, The Weakest Link presenter said: ‘ Do you know something? Let me tell you honestly, I’ve got really mixed feelings about that, as I was finding that very distracting.
‘So I apologise for that and so I’m glad that’s been dealt with.
‘But also I’m slightly sad that’s the most excited you’ve sounded all evening!’
Meanwhile, in a clip obtained by The Sun, Romesh is seen reacting in shock shortly after hearing the abuse, as he asked her to ‘shut the f**k up’ and questioned: ‘What’s going on?’

Directly addressing the racist person who at this point was stood on her feet, the publication reports he said: ‘Wait listen, I’m getting distracted. You’re going to have to shut the f**k up. What’s going on?
‘Am I being a p***k here? Why are you stood up, what’s going on?’
Security is then seen closing in on the woman who is gesturing angrily at staff as the audience call for her to get out.

The Sun states that the abuse started when Romesh cracked a joke about racism in football, quipping: ‘I’d rather be a P**i than a Scouse’, which is said to have caused a male audience member to start chanting: ‘Millwall!’
Responding to the man, Romesh is said to have remarked: ‘Why are you letting everyone know you are a racist?’, which is then reported to have spurned the woman to start ‘yelling racist abuse’ while ‘pointing’ at the star.
The source added that the man had yelled the racial slur : ‘Hip-Hop coconut’ and told how it was ‘awful blatant racism’ before commending Romesh on the way he handled things.
