A family were shocked to discover a massive carpet python had slithered inside their home and took up refuge in their toilet paper stash.
Stuart McKenzie from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers was called to a home on Thursday near Ilkley in the Sunshine Coast region when he found the serpent sleeping in a toilet roll basket.
The family couldn’t believe their eyes when they spotted the python curled up inside their bathroom on top of a dryer.

‘I walked out and my daughter walked in. She came out screaming,’ the mother said.
During the short clip, the snake catcher pulled down the basket of toilet roll as the snake slowly woke up.
‘Look there’s the tail, it looks like a decent size and it’s actually in with all the toilet paper,’ Mr McKenzie said.
The seasoned snake catcher grabbed the reptile with a hook before gently placing the three metre python into a bag.
‘It’s lucky you spotted him, imagine you’re doing the washing and he strikes at your face,’ Mr McKenzie told the family.
The snake was safely removed and later released into nearby bushland.
The rescue mission posted to Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 Facebook page received mixed reactions from viewers, with many terrified and intrigued by the python.
‘Wow that was a big one, it would give you a big fright,’ one woman said.
‘How can anyone stand to live anywhere that snakes can get in their homes?,’ Another user asked.
‘Snake’s like ‘Dude I was sleeping, what do you want’,’ another commented.
