An Instagram account, believed to have been created by a gay Instagrammer, is naming and shaming ‘Covidiots’ who have been flaunting lockdown rules during the pandemic.

The @gaysovercovid account, which was created by an anonymous user, sifts through the gay community’s Instagram posts to find and share people throwing maskless parties and huge gatherings while coronavirus cases continue to spiral.

Posts include a huge Christmas party in Miami where at least 30 revelers were gathered inside, bunching together for a photo, without a mask in sight.

Another was a clip taken from TikTok and titled ‘Gays at their NYE circuit parties’ showing what appeared to be a busy club or party filled with dancing men, without masks.

The group behind the Instagram account wrote in the caption: ‘The most relatable @tiktok we’ve seen. January is going to be such a bad month for case numbers, hospitalizations, and coronavirus related deaths.

‘For those of you who stayed home, thank you. For those of you who traveled, please quarantine and get tested. It’s never too late to have empathy for others.’

The account shared several images from Christmas parties that showed at least a dozen people packing inside their homes for the holiday.

Some were seen enjoying meals while others were having a few drinks and none of them were wearing masks.

‘Merry 19 Person In-Door Covid No Mask Christmas. Hate to break the news to you but there is not ONE SINGLE ICU bed available for you. Why can’t you stay home?’ the creators of the account wrote in one caption.

In another image that showed a group celebrating in Miami, the caption reads: ‘Miami, did the Pandemic go away down there? Last I checked you were just under reporting your numbers. Stop hosting spreader parties.’

The account, which has more than 108,000 followers, also outed health care workers who had received the COVID-19 vaccine just before traveling to Puerto Vallarta for a party.

‘White privilege at its absolute finest. Privileged enough to be vaccinated two days ago, now this medical professional is on a beach in Puerto Vallarta without a care in the world,’ the caption of the post reads.

‘Meanwhile the CDC begs people to stay home and not travel. I will never understand this lack of empathy,’ the caption continued.

While most of the posts add some humor, there are some clips that show healthcare workers pleading for people to take the virus serious and an incident that involved a boat carrying 60 passengers sinking in Mexico.

In one clip, a healthcare worker is heard telling people to stay home because ‘we don’t have the resources to save you’.

‘I’m so tired. I’m so exhausted. I’m so over people dying… And then seeing all these people out partying for New Year’s Eve or doing whatever… or saying this sh*t isn’t real.. I’m so over it,’ the healthcare worker says.

The Instagram also shared video from a party boat that sank in the ocean waters of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on New Year’s Eve.

Footage from the incident, showed the boat’s passengers being rescued. None of them were injured.

‘In a series finale ending to 2020 in Puerto Vallarta, the party boat, PV Delice, sank to the bottom of the ocean,’ @gaysovercovid wrote, urging people to ‘just stay home’.

The account has caused a ‘gay civil war’ with some even offering financial rewards to anyone who has information on the anonymous creator’s identity.

At least one group is offering $500 for tangible proof leading to the creator’s identity.

‘For so long they have been hiding the screen, trying to out fellow gays, making our community as divisive as ever,’ the group offering the reward shared.

‘If they believe what they’re doing is right, why be a coward and let us know who they really are.’

Several people have criticized the account for attacking gay influencers who traveled during the holiday season and went maskless to large parties.

However, many more are celebrating who ever is behind the account for exposing such behavior amid a pandemic.

A DailyMail.com request for comment to Gays Over Covid was not immediately returned on Tuesday afternoon.

Another Instagram account with the handle @utahcovididiots also shared images and clips of local residents flouting COVID restrictions.

One image showed at least 18 people who apparently traveled from Utah to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, for the New Year holiday.

‘If anyone you know went to Lava Hot Springs over New Years and told you they were responsible and there was no danger of #covid_19 here’s your proof they lied,’ the caption of an image reads.

‘#covididiots have no shame and your health and safety is of zero concern to them. ZERO. This selfishness is mind blowing and infuriating,’ the post continued.

‘They laugh in your face when they’re rolling your dough all while flaunting their #antivax and anti #covidrestrictions. Kat Von Douche doesn’t deserve one red cent of your money!!’

Health officials warned Americans to stay home for the holiday season, but millions took the skies to visit family across the country.

Large gatherings, which have been dubbed ‘super-spreaders,’ have occurred across multiple states, including Florida and California, where cases of the virus continue to spike.

Thousands were seen in Florida over the New Year’s Eve weekend partying at beach bars and on beaches. Many were not wearing masks.

'Super-COVID' is spreading across the US. It was first reported in Colorado last week. It was then confirmed in California, which now has six cases, and Florida before being found in New York (all depicted)

Just weeks ago, California became the first state to surpass 2 million cases, and it is one of four states where the highly-contagious UK strain of COVID has been found.

Colorado was the first to report a case of the ‘mutant strain’ followed by California, Florida and on Monday, New York.

The ‘super-COVID’ strain has plunged the UK back into another lockdown with 1 in 50 people contracting the virus.

More than one million people in the UK currently have the virus with cases soaring 70 per cent in just one week.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the new variant left the government with no choice but to impose another national lockdown.
