There has been a huge explosion in downtown Nashville which caused plumes of smoke to rise through the city skyline and scattered broken glass and metal in the streets.
The explosion happened at 6.40am local time on Christmas Day.
A bomb squad has been called but it’s unclear what the source of the explosion was.
According to local reports, ‘shaking’ was felt throughout the city. One report claimed the blast came from an RV but officials are yet to verify that detail.
Others have only said it was a ‘parked vehicle’.

The blast caused damage to downtown buildings but no injuries have been reported.
‘There is an incident involving an explosion.
‘This is an active scene. Metro Nashville Police Department and Nashville Fire Department are on the scene.
‘There are no additional details to provide at this time,’ the Nashville Fire Department said in a statement.
WKRN cited officials who said the explosion did not seem to be suspicious.
Within minutes of the blast, social media lit up with people reporting that they felt it and the ground ‘shaking’.
