Talking about what he intends to buy Elton, he said: ‘We have a one gift rule because we don’t need anything, we are very blessed in life.
‘The thing I am most looking forward to is Christmas with our sons, because there is nothing like Christmas with children. All the magic for us with Christmas has just gone off the charts since we had our boys.’
David sweetly said that Zachary and Elijah have already written their lists to Father Christmas and they were posted last week.
He went on to add that they will be like ‘everyone else’ this Christmas and having a quiet lockdown family day.

‘We are going to be like everyone else, we are going to have a quiet lockdown family Christmas at home but I am really looking forward to it.
‘I am just getting away from work and spending time watching lots of old movies, listening to great Christmas records and having too much to eat like everyone else.’

Cute! David, 58, took to Instagram on Sunday to share a snap of his and Elton John’s, 73, sons Zachary, 9, and Elijah, 7, sending letters to Santa as they got into the festive spirit
He said: ‘It is daddy up on stage. They are very proud of him obviously and they love his songs but when he comes home he leaves Elton John behind.
‘It is always very much daddy’s work and that’s what he does but he doesn’t bring it into the household and he doesn’t talk about it in any kind of glorified way. They seem to be quite grounded about it and I hope that continues to last.’
David and Elton have been using the lockdown to spend special family time with their two children.
Only recently, the filmmaker revealed that they have been camping in the woods surrounding of one of their lavish homes as a fun activity for their sons during the coronavirus crisis.

Talking to singer Lulu, 71, on an Instagram Live, David explained that they have been doing a more ‘restricted’ version of self isolation due to Elton being 73-years-old.
During the chat, David admitted he was ‘conscious’ that Zachary and Elijah haven’t been able to see their friends so they’ve been doing lots of fun activities at home, including their first camping experience in their garden.
It is not known which mansion David was referring to but it’s likely to be their Windsor home which has a sprawling garden complete with a large lake to feed ducks.
He said: ‘Because Elton is 73 we’ve been doing a more restricted version of lockdown so one thing the boys haven’t been able to do is get out and mix with their friends which I feel really conscious of so how many activities can we do with them at home?

‘I grew up in Canada, I was a cub scout, I was a boy scout, I love camping, and I am a camper.’
David revealed that he and Elton didn’t give their two sons a ‘glamping’ experience and instead took them to the woods in their garden where they had to build a fire pit, pitch a tent and gather wood.
He said: ‘I didn’t do glamping with the boys – that’s the posh camping where everything laid out beautifully for you.
‘We just went out into the woods here on our land and taught the boys how to clear a campsite, and dug and built a fire pit and pitched a tent and gathered wood for kindling.

‘Just walking to the end of your own garden we were going away into a campsite.’
David said the ‘silver lining’ of lockdown has been spending so much time together as a family as Elton is currently off from his touring.
Elton had to postpone his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
David and Elton own six properties in total located in California, Atlanta, London, Windsor, Nice and Venice.
