The 27-second clip shows Winston curiously taking in his surroundings as he waits on the wooden railings. 

Suddenly Winston is startled by the light on the doorbell as Jamie comes to the door. 

The sweet wide-eyed cat turns his head towards the doorbell which is illuminated by the outdoor light.

Jamie reassures her cat through the intercom and says: ‘Winston I am coming to get you.’ 

The emergency medical technician revealed how she was ‘definitely surprised’ when she found out Winston had learned to press the doorbell instead of using a cat flap. 

Jamie posted the video to the Ring Doorbell Users Group on Facebook captioned: ‘My cat has learned to ring the doorbell when he wants in the house.’

She said: ‘We aren’t sure how long he’s been using the doorbell but I was definitely surprised he used the doorbell.’
