Ivanka Trump heads to work after her father’s COVID-19 diagnosis

Ivanka tests NEGATIVE for COVID-19 as she flouts CDC quarantine guidelines and heads to work just hours after Trump confirmed that he and Melania have contracted the virus and two days after she flew with the president on Air Force One

  • The First Daughter’s spokesperson Carolina Hurley confirmed on Twitter that both Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner tested negative on Friday
  • A masked Ivanka, 38, was pictured in the back of a Secret Service SUV on Friday morning making her way to work at the White House
  • It is not known whether she and Jared, 39, took a test at the White House, or whether they had already taken it before leaving home
  • Her appearance comes just hours after President Trump publicly confirmed that both he and Melania have tested positive for COVID-19
  • Ivanka attended the presidential debate with her father on Tuesday, and was seen posing for a photo with him aboard Air Force One as they returned home
  • Neither she or her father were wearing face masks in the photo
  • The First Daughter also posed for pictures backstage at the debate with her stepmother Melania, however they both wore face masks
  • She also sat alongside Melania in a socially-distanced seat at the debate

Ivanka Trump has tested negative for COVID-19, just hours after her father confirmed that both he and First Lady Melania had contracted the virus.

The 38-year-old’s spokesperson confirmed on Twitter on Friday morning that both Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner had been tested again for the virus in the wake of her father’s positive diagnosis, and both had received negative test results.

Ivanka and Jared, 39, were seen making their way to work as normal on Friday morning, blatantly disregarding the CDC’s quarantining guidelines, which advise anyone who has been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 to isolate for 14 days, even if they have since tested negative themselves.

The First Daughter traveled with her father on Air Force One in the early hours of Wednesday morning, following the presidential debate, while her husband Jared flew to Minnesota with Hope Hicks, who has also tested positive, that same day.

Trump’s aide Hope began experiencing symptoms of the virus during the group’s return trip to D.C.

It is not known whether Ivanka and Jared were tested before they left their Washington, D.C. home, or whether the tests were administered at the White House.

The couple have also not yet confirmed whether their three young children – Arabella, Joseph, and Theodore – have been tested.

Ivanka declined to address her health status personally on social media on Friday morning, instead leaving it to her spokesperson to share the news of her negative test result, however she did offer words of sympathy for her father and stepmother shortly after she was pictured leaving her home.

‘Praying for the swift recovery of my father and Melania and for all those impacted by COVID-19,’ she wrote on Twitter.

‘As they fight this together, the President will continue to fight for the people of this great country.’

The First Daughter’s departure for work came just hours after the President and First Lady tweeted that they had both tested positive and were isolating at the White House – two days after attending the first presidential debate alongside several of Trump’s children, including Ivanka, Tiffany, Don Jr, and Eric.

Don Jr’s partner Kimberly Guilfoyle and Eric’s wife Lara were also present, and the entire group is understood to have traveled both to and from the debate with the President on Air Force One.

While at the debate, Ivanka posed for several masked photos alongside Melania, and the two also sat alongside each other during the event – however the chairs had been spread out to follow social-distancing guidelines.

Following the debate, in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Ivanka then shared a photo of herself and her father posing together without face masks aboard Air Force One, with the First Daughter standing over President Trump with her hand on his shoulder.

The photo was posted almost exactly 48 hours before Trump tweeted about his positive test result, writing: ‘Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!’

Despite testing negative for COVID-19 on Friday morning, Ivanka’s decision to leave her home and head to work is in direct contradiction to the CDC’s quarantining guidelines.

The CDC advises anyone who has been in ‘close contact’ with a person who has COVID-19 to quarantine for 14 days after they came into contact with them – even if they have since tested negative themselves.

‘Even if you test negative for COVID-19 or feel healthy, you should stay home (quarantine) since symptoms may appear 2 to 14 days after exposure to the virus,’ the CDC website states.

Meanwhile her husband Jared Kushner, 39, was also pictured departing for work on Friday morning – despite having traveled with Trump’s aide Hope Hicks, who tested positive hours before the President, on September 30.

On Wednesday, Jared and Hope, 31, traveled to Minnesota together, and were seen walking alongside one another at Andrews Air Force Base as they prepared to board their plane. Neither of them were wearing masks.

Hours later, as they made their way back to Washington, D.C., Hope began feeling unwell, and she tested positive for COVID-19 one day later, on Thursday.
