Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Bella Hadid led the fashion at Sunday night’s 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, where stars across the showbiz world appeared in five NYC boroughs for the unique event.
Marking a bizarre return to the red carpet amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the event was filmed over the days at several different locations with production abiding by social distancing guidelines as it aired ‘live’.
Leading the very-2020 style event, Miley put on a sultry display in a sheer off-the-shoulder dress, while Gaga looked like a chic extraterrestrial in silver gown. The stunner led the red carpet for the VMAs, which were held outdoors across Brooklyn, the Bronx, Staten Island, Queens, and Manhattan.
Miley flashed her tongue while showing off her outfit, which revealed her toned abs and fit legs.
She wore matching gloves that reached up her arms, and had a black bandeau and matching panties under the sheer covering, which was decorated with small mirrors.
The Party In The USA singer wore her blonde locks in a playful mullet. She accessorized with large Disco Hoop Earrings with brown diamonds from Loree Rodkin, along with a Pave bracelet from the same designer.
Gaga wore a voluminous silver dress with sky-high black platform boots and a clear helmet over her silver-haired head.
Blinding: Miley sparkled thanks to dozens of tiny mirrors adorning her dress, which left little to the imagination
Monochrome: The model paired her top, which featured long sleeves, with a high-waisted set of black slacks and black open-toe heels with gold chain straps
Like Miley, Bella favored a sheer outfit with a revealing top. The model paired her top, which featured long sleeves, with a high-waisted set of black slacks and black open-toe heels with gold chain straps.
She framed her impeccably made-up face with large gold hoop earrings and wore her raven tresses in striking layers.
Madison Beer put her sensational figure on full display with a thigh-skimming black dress.
While flaunting her ample cleavage in a plunging neckline, the 21-year-old singer commanded attention in her semi-sheer ensemble, which hugged every inch of her toned frame.
The beauty showcased her toned and bronzed legs in the flirty black minidress, which hovered above her upper-thighs. In addition to a pair of matching open-toed heels, she donned a pair of black gloves, which came up to her shoulders.
Her luxurious blonde hair was flawlessly flat ironed, as she oozed confidence and pursed her plump pout on the red carpet.

She was joined by a number of other celebrities, including Keke Palmer, Joey King, Bebe Rexha and Sofia Carson, on the red carpet.
Joey wore a short green and red floral dress, which she accessorized with a number of gold Chanel necklaces and matching hair clips.
For her makeup, the 21-year-old Kissing Booth star had applied a heavy swipe of blush and a fierce winged eyeliner.
Nicole Richie matched the green color scheme in a ruched dress with a long train.
Bebe Rexha strutted in a plunging black dress and her hair in a sky-high ponytail.
While she opted to wear all-black, she had an eye-popping manicure, which she flaunted while blowing a kiss to photographers.
Her extra long false nails appeared to be metallic and she also paired her laid-back look with a handful of rings.
Additionally, some stars began to tease their looks earlier in the evening.

Ariana Grande, who is leading the pack this year with nine nominations, put on a leggy display in a black leather dress, which featured a silver zipper at the front.
She teamed the sexy ensemble with a pair of sky-high white heels and opted to style her ombré blonde tresses in perfectly sleek pigtails with flipped ends.
‘Happy VMA day ::) so excited for u see our first rain on me performance tonight!’ the 27-year Grammy winner captioned a series of shots of herself on Instagram.
She also gushed she felt ‘honored’ to share the stage with her Rain On Me collaborator, Lady Gaga, who she described as ‘f*cking incredible.’
The 7 Rings hitmaker also praised MTV for ‘being so diligent in making this such a safe & healthy experience for all of the performers and crew involved.’
She and Gaga will perform their hit duet Rain On Me at the event, which was originally scheduled to be held with a limited audience in Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center but will now place at various outdoor locations across New York City instead.

The VMA’s, or Video Music Awards, is honoring Gaga’s team-up with Grande with the seven nods, including Song of the Year and top prize Video Of The Year.
In addition to Video and Song of the Year, the pop snippet is also nominated for best collaboration, best pop, best cinematography, best visual effects, and best choreography.
In addition to the recognition for Rain On Me, off of Gaga’s latest album Chromatica, Grande is also being nominated for two more VMAs for her sweet quarantine-themed collab with Justin Bieber, Stuck With U.
Those nominations are another in the best collaboration category, and a new category for the age of the coronavirus pandemic – best music video from home.
Grande’s upcoming VMA performance, her fifth, will be the first since 2018, when she wowed with her hit show-stopping rendition of God Is a Woman.

Earlier this month, it was announced that the VMAs would not take place at Barclays as initially planned, instead taking the festivities outdoors as a precaution against the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The decision was reached mutually between both MTV and representatives from the large Barclays venue, who said in a statement:
‘The 2020 VMAs paid homage to the incredible resiliency of New York with several outdoor performances around [the city] with limited or no audience, adhering to all state and city guidelines.
‘In close consultation with state and local health officials, it became clear at this time that outdoor performances with limited or no audience would be more feasible and safer than an indoor event,’ the statement continued.
‘The VMAs will highlight the boroughs in an exciting show and return to Barclays Center in 2021. MTV will continue to work closely with the Department of Health, state and local officials, the medical community, and key stakeholders to ensure the safety of all involved,’ the missive concluded.
