Finding a pair of jeans that are a perfect fit can be a chore at the best of times, but with changing rooms in some stores closed due to Covid-19, it’s a total nightmare.
Ensuring they fit at the waist, hip and leg is chore for most women, making them dread heading into changing rooms in order to wiggle their way into a pair.
But one TikTok user has shared a handy hack to fit into jeans without having to try them on.
Billie Newland, an influencer and fashion blogger from Iowa, say you can check the waist size with your forearm and the leg length with your wingspan – but many aren’t convinced.

Posting on her TikTok channel, Billie tells her followers she can help them find any pair of jeans of any shop to fit without making a trip to the dressing room

‘Choose you pair of jeans and stick your elbow in one end,’ she explains.
‘If there’s a large gap between your elbow, the end of your hand and your jeans they’re too big.
‘On the flip side, if you pick up a pair of jeans and you can’t fit your arm into the waistband, they’re too small.
‘But if you fit and your arm is snug, that’s your perfect pair’ she adds.
In a second TikTok video, the influencer also reveals you can find pick up a pair of ideal length jeans by measure them against your arms.
‘If you stretch them out and they go past your fingertips then then it’s gonna be too long. ‘If you pick up a pair and [have to bend your elbow] then they’re too short.’

Billie, who boasts nearly 400,000 followers on the app, had a mixed reception to the videos.

Many pointed out if they lose or gain weight their jeans might fit differently, but their forearms will be the same length.
While others said their arms were a different length to their legs, meaning the hack won’t work for them.
Commenting on her first clip, one TikTok user said: ‘But what if you have a tummy??’
Another joked: ‘What if you chubby and short and kinda have no legs’
